§Privacy Policy
Privacy policy.
What we collect, why, and what you can make us do about it. Written to be read rather than skimmed past.
Who we are
This site and our SMS games are operated by StuntDoubler LLC, a limited liability company registered in the State of Utah, United States, trading as Stunt Doubler ("we", "us"). We are the data controller for the information described here.
Reach us any time at [email protected]. That address is read by people who can act on what you ask for.
What we collect
When you visit this website
Almost nothing. There are no analytics, no advertising trackers, and no cookies set by us. Our host, Cloudflare, keeps short-lived server logs — including IP addresses — to deliver the site and protect it from attack. We don't use those logs to build a profile of you.
When you play an SMS game
- Your phone number, so we can send and receive game messages.
- The messages you send us, because they're how you play.
- A record of your opt-in — which keyword you sent, to which number, and when. We're required to keep this.
- Delivery information from our messaging provider, such as whether a message was delivered.
If you win a prize
Your legal name, postal address, and Social Security or taxpayer identification number — collected only from confirmed winners of prizes worth $600 or more, only on an IRS form, and only because tax law requires us to report the award.
When you email us
Whatever you put in the email, plus your address, so we can reply.
When you enter a contest for free
If you use the free entry route in our Official Rules, we collect only your name, age, state and email address. We use it to run the contest and to reach you if you win, and nothing else. It is not added to a marketing list, and entering that way does not sign you up for messages of any kind.
What we don't do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your phone number with anyone else for their own marketing, and we do not share it with the sponsor of a game. We do not use your game messages to build advertising profiles, and we do not send promotional text messages at all.
Why we're allowed to use it
- Your consent — for the text messages that carry the game. You can withdraw it at any time by texting STOP.
- Our legitimate interests — keeping the site up, preventing abuse, and answering you when you write to us.
- Legal obligation — retaining proof of consent for messaging, which regulators and carriers can require us to produce.
Who else touches it
Only suppliers who need it to make the thing work, and only for that purpose: our SMS delivery provider, our website host and our email provider. They act on our instructions. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Game messages and phone numbers are kept while a game runs and for a reasonable period afterwards. Opt-in and opt-out records are kept longer, because we have to be able to prove them. Email is kept as long as the conversation is useful.
Your choices
Text STOP to leave any SMS program immediately. Text HELP for help.
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, object to how we use it, or take it elsewhere. Email us and we'll do it. We won't treat you differently for asking.
California privacy rights
If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act gives you specific rights. This section sets them out.
What we collect, in the categories California uses
- Identifiers — your phone number, your email address if you write to us, and IP addresses recorded in our host's server logs.
- Internet or other electronic network activity — the ordinary request logs generated when a page is loaded.
- Contents of communications — the messages you send us while playing. Because we are the intended recipient of those messages, California does not treat them as sensitive personal information.
Sensitive personal information
We collect sensitive personal information in exactly one situation. If you win a prize worth $600 or more, United States tax law requires us to collect your Social Security or taxpayer identification number so that we can report the award. We ask for it only after you have been notified as a winner, only on an IRS form, and never by text message.
We use it for tax reporting and nothing else. We do not use it to infer any characteristic about you, so the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information does not attach to it. If you would rather not provide it, you may decline the prize.
Beyond that, we collect no financial account details, precise geolocation, biometric or genetic data, health information, or account credentials.
Where it comes from, and why
Directly from you, and from the messaging, hosting and email providers that act on our instructions. We use it to run the games, to answer you when you write, to keep the site available and secure, and to retain the proof of consent that messaging law requires us to keep.
Selling and sharing
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Both terms have specific legal meanings in California, and both answers are no. We have not sold or shared personal information in the preceding twelve months, and we have never knowingly sold or shared the personal information of anyone under 16.
Because we do not sell or share, there is no "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" process to complete — but you are welcome to write and confirm it with us.
Your rights
- Know what we have collected about you, where it came from, why, and who we disclosed it to.
- Access a copy of it in a portable form.
- Delete it, subject to the consent records we are legally required to keep.
- Correct anything inaccurate.
- Opt out of sale or sharing — already the default, as above.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these. We will not degrade your game, charge you more, or treat you differently.
How to exercise them
Email [email protected] and say what you want. We verify requests by matching them to the phone number or email address we already hold — we will not ask you for new identity documents in order to prove a request. An authorized agent may act for you with your written permission.
We respond within 45 days, and will tell you if we need the one extension the law allows.
Age
Our games are for adults only. Taking part requires being 18 or older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
If we learn that we have, we delete it and remove the player. If you believe someone under 18 has taken part, tell us at [email protected] and we'll act on it.
Security, honestly stated
We take sensible measures to protect what we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and SMS in particular is not an encrypted channel — please don't send us anything sensitive by text.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date below. If the change is significant and affects you, we'll tell you.
