§Terms

Terms.

Two things live here: the rules of our SMS games, and the ordinary terms for using this website.

01   SMS game program terms

These govern taking part in a Stunt Doubler SMS mystery game.

What the program is

Stunt Doubler is a trading name of StuntDoubler LLC (Utah). We run collaborative mystery games played over text message. Participants receive story messages and clues, and reply to take part.

Joining

You join by texting the keyword on your invitation to the number given. That message is your express consent to receive recurring automated text messages relating to the game you joined, at that number.

This is not a marketing program. We do not send promotional messages, offers, or advertisements by text, and consent is not a condition of any purchase. Messages stop when your game ends, or sooner if you tell us to.

Sponsorship

Our games are paid for by a sponsor, and the sponsor forms part of the story. Their identity is revealed during gameplay rather than beforehand. At the end of a game, every player is offered a gift from the sponsor on our website. That gift is given to all players equally, is not a prize, and has no bearing on the outcome of any contest.

Frequency and cost

Message frequency varies, depending on the game and how much you play. Message and data rates may apply according to your plan and carrier. Playing is otherwise free.

Stopping

Text STOP to any message to end that program immediately. You'll receive a single confirmation. Text HELP for help, or email [email protected].

Carriers

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on your carrier's network and is not guaranteed.

Eligibility and conduct

You must be 18 or older to take part, and must use a mobile number you are authorized to use. We remove players we learn are under 18 and delete their number. Don't harass other players, don't attempt to break or exploit the game, and don't share content that is unlawful. We may remove anyone from a game.

The story

The game and any prizes are real. The story told inside it is not. Nothing sent as part of a game story is a real emergency, a real legal notice, or a real demand for money, however urgently it is written.

We will never ask you by text message for a password, payment details, or a Social Security number. Anything claiming otherwise is not from us.

If you win a prize with a value of $600 or more, United States tax law requires us to collect tax information from you, as set out in the Official Rules. We do that only after notifying you as a winner, and never by text message.
